1. Our Core Commitment

Sinewave does not buy, sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. Your data is never sold. Your data is never purchased from other sources to profile you. This is not a business model we participate in — now or in the future.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account registration information (name, email address, username); artist profile information (bio, profile photo, social links) if you register as an artist; payment and wallet information necessary to process transactions (we do not store full payment card numbers); communications you send to us (e.g., support requests).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage data (tracks played, play duration, search queries, pages visited); device information (device type, operating system, browser type); IP address and approximate geographic location (country/region level); cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 7.

2.3 Blockchain and Payment Data

If you use Web3 wallet features, certain transaction data (wallet addresses, transaction hashes, payment amounts) is recorded on public blockchains. This information is inherently public and outside our control once submitted to the blockchain.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your Social Security number, government-issued ID, or sensitive demographic data such as race, religion, or political affiliation.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account • Process streaming payments and artist payouts • Deliver and improve the Service • Send transactional communications (receipts, payout confirmations, security alerts) • Respond to your support requests • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity • Comply with applicable legal obligations • Send optional product updates and announcements (you may opt out at any time)

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles or sell targeted advertising.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party companies to perform functions on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, payment processing, fraud detection, and email delivery. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information solely to perform services for us and may not use it for their own purposes.

4.2 Artists and Public Profiles

If you are a listener, your username and publicly visible activity (e.g., plays attributed to a track) may be visible to artists on the platform in aggregated, non-personally-identifiable form. We do not share your personal contact information with artists. If you are an artist, your artist profile information (name, bio, music, artwork) is publicly visible on the Service.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, prevent fraud, or protect the safety of our users or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

If Sinewave is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

4.5 With Your Consent

We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit prior consent.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@sinewavemusic.io. We will delete or anonymize your information within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g., financial transaction records).

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Please notify us immediately at security@sinewavemusic.io if you believe your account has been compromised.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used (analytics).

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels that serve ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us at privacy@sinewavemusic.io.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information • Portability: Request a machine-readable export of your data • Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing activities • Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sinewavemusic.io. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

California Residents: You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Sinewave does not sell personal information.

European Residents: If you are located in the EEA or UK, our legal basis for processing your personal information includes the performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
